Many preach about a God who cannot complete His will without us. We have churches pleading to congregations to help God get His work done. They portray a God who is frustrated and needs our help because He is not able to carry out His purposes by Himself and is dependent upon us. However, the Bible says that He is the self-existent God; He is not dependent upon us at all.
Nevertheless, He gives us the privilege of being an agent—an instrument in the work that He is doing. He calls us to go to mission fields and preach the Word, but He is not dependent upon us. If we do not go, He will still get His work done. There will not be one person greater or fewer in heaven because of obedience or disobedience. The Bible clearly points this out.
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. (Isaiah 46:10)
